Everbal

Our story

A true original

“To know where you’re going, you have to know where you’ve been.” This proverb perfectly sums up the philosophy that prevails at Everbal, a company proud of its traditions rooted in elbow grease, resilience, and devotion to our work, while also resolutely looking towards the future.

Paper manufacturer since 1895

The company was founded in 1895 in Evergnicourt, a small town about twenty miles northeast of Reims near the Aisne river. Initially, the plant produced paper from straw pulp for the food industry, in particular butcher paper. The building was levelled during World War I, and then rebuilt in 1920. The layout for the plant was completely revised, with only the turbine hall being rebuilt in the same place. The use of straw ceased in 1925, and the company began focusing on the production of paper and cardboard.

A new impetus

Major modernisation work began on the facilities in 1980. The goal was clear: transform the existing activity to concentrate exclusively on the production of recycled products made from recovered paper.
The group Exacompta Clairfontaine acquired the site in 1994, and over 35 million € were then invested in the plant. The production modules for the paper pulp, the paper machine and the biomass boilers were fully remodelled.

Committed to a responsible future

Thanks to these commitments, Everbal now has a ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified plant with a production capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year. It has reduced CO2 emissions by 20,000 tonnes while producing high-quality and long-lasting products.
